| Sandy's hearkens back to the days before golden arches and talking chihuahuas, when burgers and other fast foods were dispensed from friendly little mom & pop roadside shops. It's a lake-area staple that does a brisk drive-through business in well-stuffed breakfast tacos and specials and is always packed at lunchtime. Burgers come both small and large, and are truly fine paired with homemade sides of fresh-cut fries and hand-battered onion rings. Pressed to choose a favorite meal here, we'll admit to being partial to the small bacon cheeseburger and a chili cheese dog with a large side of O-rings.
