Household Hazardous Waste Collection & Document Shred Event
Each year, the City of Lakeway plans a special event for our residents who have hazardous waste to dispose. Items not allowed to be disposed in normal weekly solid waste pick-up are collected at the Household Hazardous Waste Event for the convenience of our residents, and the safety and well-being of everyone. What to bring: Household cleaning products, drain cleaners, oven cleaning solvents, degreasers, polishers, pool chemicals, household batteries, mercury thermometers, fluorescent light bulbs, gas grill propane tanks, paint, automotive and technology products. Each household is allowed to bring 2 standard file boxes of docu-ments clear of paper clips or other metal objects. For further information, please call Lakeway’s Solid Waste Services Department at 314-7514.

Texas 4000 Atlas Ride

The Austin Triathlon
Imagine a world class triathlon held in the front yard of one of the most active and outgoing cities in the US. Imagine a large event with the atmosphere and intimacy of a small hometown race. Imagine biking down the most historic street in Texas. Imagine the fun. That is The AVIA Austin Triathlon. The olympic distance course is a 1500 meter swim, 40 Km bike, and a 10 Km run. The sprint course is a 700 meter swim, 27 Km bike, and 5 Km run. Both events will use the same course. The Olympic distance will complete 3 laps on the bike course, and 2 laps on the run course. The sprint distance will complete 2 laps on the bike course, and 1 lap on the run course.

Austin Record Convention
The Austin Record Convention is the largest sale of recorded music in the USA. There is more music and related memorabilia available here, at one time, than anywhere else. Ranging from the 78's of the 1930s to the latest compact discs of today, over one million 78s, 45s, LPs, CDs, cassettes, posters and collectibles (probably even a few 8-track tapes!) are in the auditorium. Over 300 different dealers from all over the USA and Europe are spread out over 50,000 square feet of floor space. The show brings together collectors and dealers from all over the world for a weekend of activity in Austin. 3M Half Marathon & Relay

LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour
The 3rd Annual LBJ 100 Bicycle Tour starts on the air strip of the historic LBJ Ranch on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 9:00 AM. The tour provides routes of 10, 30, 44, and 65 miles on scenic, low-traffic ranch roads in the Texas Hill Country. As an added feature, Luci Baines Johnson’s Historical Tour of the LBJ Ranch will depart at 1:00 PM. Lakeway Wilderness Fun Run & Walk
The start/finish line is near the kiosk at the entrance to Hamilton Greenbelt I across Lohman's from Lakeway Justice Center. Parking is available at the Justice Center and at the Activity Center. Participants may choose to run or walk either 3 miles or 5 miles. The 5 miles course winds through the rolling hills of the HGB II primitive trails along Lake Travis. This fun event offers something for everyone. It is a great opportunity for runners as well as families with kids and dogs to enjoy an outing and explore the beautiful greenbelt trails of Lakeway.
